The problem with Traditional Self Storage Security Systems.
While self-storage facilities all have unique layouts and challenges, their function and design are similar. One constant we regularly encounter is the reliability and speed of a location’s internet service. Traditional security companies rely on this often unreliable connection to transmit their video to a monitoring service.
Due to the inherent fluctuations in network speed and bandwidth, video feeds often experience a degradation in quality, resulting in the inability to detect criminal activity, or capture quality evidence.
Systems that rely on hard-wired internet can also experience complete loss of connection due to provider outages, inclement weather, or damaged cables. When this happens, all security monitoring services are lost.
At first glance, self-storage facilities seem like fairly static locations, with site traffic regulated to only staff and customers. But despite the limited traffic, traditional video security companies often have a hard time distinguishing between non-threatening and suspicious activity. The high-resolution, live security feeds sent to our UL & ULC Certified Monitoring Center are safe from interruption or image degradation.

Our professionally trained operators detect and deter any unwanted activity your business may face, like unauthorized property access, and theft and vandalism. Our wireless video security units feature advanced A.I. for human and object detection.
Our monitoring staff utilizes tools like voice commands over 2-way speakers and strobe lights to warn off trespassers. They zoom in on perpetrators with high-definition cameras that utilize night vision technology to capture court quality evidence.
Stationary cameras provide coverage of fixed locations, such as rental unit doors, entryways, and parking lots. Once a suspicious individual is detected, our operators follow them with a PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) camera; zooming in to acquire identifiable features, including facial features, hairstyle, ethnicity, and clothing.
When suspicious or criminal activity is confirmed, operators speak to suspects through a two-way communications speaker. They make every effort to deter the suspect, calling out specific actions and telling them law enforcement will be dispatched if they don’t leave immediately.
Prior to the installation, our logistics team conducts an inspection of your location to identify risk areas, such as storage units, building access, parking lots, and fence lines. We work with you to determine the best coverage and complement of equipment possible.
Video Security for Self Storage Facilities.
Our security units with advanced analytics come equipped with an ultra-high-resolution PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) camera for conducting live patrols, zooming in and capturing court quality evidence. This camera, along with the two included stationary cameras utilize state-of-the-art night-vision technology that produce ‘near daylight’ images even in the darkest areas.

Standard video storage provides a minimum 21 days storage, with optional expansion up to 18 weeks.
Also included is a high-visibility blue LED strobe light, used as a visual deterrent to make suspects aware of the presence of security. and a 2-way communication speaker used by operators to proactively deter criminal or unwanted activity.
Our internal expansion port allows for additional equipment like license plate readers, thermal cameras, and more. Our syncroPlates license plate reader system stores captured plates in a database, allowing you to white list and black list certain vehicles that enter your property.
Our security camera units are lightweight, weighing less than 15 pounds, so they can be mounted to virtually any surface and location. Common locations include storage units, building corners, roofs, walls, or power and light poles. They operate on less than 60 watts of power, and solar units are an option when power is not available.
The standard video recording capacity is 21 days, with an optional expandable hard drive that provides up to 18 weeks of video storage.
UL Certified Remote Video Surveillance Monitoring Center.
Our live remote monitoring center is UL Certified, to operate flawlessly on any commercial property, regardless of mounting location, power, and even environmental conditions.
In compliance with UL licenses 827A and 827B, our monitoring center employs redundancy measures to ensure a stable and consistent commercial security service. Unlike services that rely on traditional internet, our video feeds are sent over a private MPLS network, meaning the transmissions and data are not exposed to the public or hackers.
Our security units meet all safety and electrical standards with CSA Inspection & SPE-1000 Compliance. Our unit enclosures are NEMA 4X rated, ensuring they can endure even the harshest conditions.
Standard monitoring hours are 6am to 6pm weekdays and 24 hours on weekends and holidays. Additional monitoring can be arranged.
Investigations & Video Review
Self-storage facilities experience a constant flow of daily activity, with people and vehicles coming and going. This is why our security units record 24/7, even outside of monitoring hours, to capture incidents that may occur.
There’s no need to comb through video footage yourself. With syncroMonitoring, all you need to do is send a request to our Investigations & Video Review team and they will conduct a review to find the video evidence you’re seeking. Incidents could include theft and vandalism of storage units or offices, unlawful entry, internal theft, unauthorized activity in storage units, and vehicle accidents.
Once the team finishes a review, they provide you with a thorough report, including high-resolution photos and video evidence.
